On August 1, 2011, Brookens Library made some changes to our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service to better serve you. These changes will not affect I-Share requesting in any way. (In our lexicon, ILL refers to the service by which patrons obtain all articles not held by UIS and books that are not available through the I-Share catalog.)
The new ILL management system that we have implemented will:
· accept requests for articles and books
· allow patrons to see all requests that they have placed with the ILL unit
· track requests throughout the process, including showing all ILL books that have been checked out and when they are due
Patrons will still be able to submit requests from within Quick Search (via WorldCat Local) and online article databases as they have done in the past. Instead of using the previous online web forms (“Request a Book” and “Request an Article”) patrons will be directed to similar request forms once they’ve logged into their “My ILL” account. Access to the “My ILL” account from the Library web site is easy—simply login with your NetID and password. You can link to “My ILL” from the Quick Links available on every page of the website.
