The purpose of the Guidelines and Procedures for Copyright Compliance in the Use of Library Materials is to provide a summary of U.S. copyright law as it relates to the use of copyright-protected works owned or licensed by Brookens Library at the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) and to provide guidelines and procedures for obtaining copyright permission to use these works (from Section 1.01 of the Brookens Library Copyright Guidelines)
