Brookens Library brought best selling author Rebecca Skloot to UIS Wednesday, November 9th for a lecture and Q-&-A for her book “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks”. The event per-reserved over 1500 tickets and there was an exceptional crowd that evening. We were thrilled to see such a diverse audience of students, faculty, staff and community members come out in support. Following the lecture was a free book signing, which attracted over 200 of the event’s attendees. It was a wonderful evening, one that will keep people talking about The University of Illinois Springfield.
